About Shutterswoop

Who runs it

Shutterswoop is run by James, based in the UK. It's a sister site to Undertuned, which does the same for guitars and studio gear. It answers one question before you buy a lens: is this actually a good price?

How it works

1. We match the exact lens in each listing from UK shops and marketplaces, such as eBay and MPB. Camera bodies, kits and lenses sold for spares are left out.
2. We compare it with recent prices for the same lens and work out the typical (median) price from at least five of them. Used lenses are compared with used and new with new, and delivery is always included.
3. We flag deals at least 20% below that typical price. Anything 60% or more below is more likely a mistake or a scam, so we don't show it.

At launch we cover lenses for Sony E and Canon RF cameras. More mounts may follow.

Where we are now

Shutterswoop is brand new. We're setting up our links with shops. Until then, the deals on the site are made-up samples, clearly marked, to show how it will work.

What Shutterswoop isn't

Shutterswoop isn't a shop. You buy from the seller, on their site and under their terms. Links to shops are ads that may earn us a commission, as explained in the affiliate disclosure.
